Accor widens its hospitality base in Leeds and Derby

International hotel group Accor is bullish to widen its base across the UK. The brand will expand its UK portfolio by opening two new hotels in Leeds and Derby under its ibis and Mercure style brands respectively. Mercure Derby will be Accor’s fifth Mercure launch. It will be run by London Town Hotels Group under a franchise agreement. Derby will be the 75th UK site for the brand, joining the network of 711 Mercure Hotels worldwide.
While, ibis style Leeds will be Accor’s eight opening under the ibis budget brand in franchise with Town Centre Securities PLC. Accor currently operates 92 ibis hotels across the UK. Both hotels are expected to be operational in the next year. Thomas Dubaere, Managing Director, Accor- UK and Ireland says, “We are pleased to announce these new hotel signings, which prove the attractiveness of our brands to franchise partners. Our ambitious expansion plans demonstrate our commitment to strengthening the portfolio across our budget and mid-scale brand segments.”
