Esquires Coffee aspires to have 800 stores in the UK by 2020

Esquires Coffee, an international coffee house chain, has plans to have 16 new stores across the UK by the end of 2015. The brand is looking forward to widening its base both in the UK and global market. Esquires Coffee aims to operate 800 stores by 2020 out of which 200 will be run in the UK alone.

The brand mainly operates on franchise model. Doug Williamson, Managing Director, Esquires Coffee UK says, “The brand is currently looking forward to have single store franchisees, multi-store franchisees and master territory franchisors; both in the UK and internationally. Presently, there are around 25 Esquires Coffee outlets in the UK. Out of those, 24 are franchisee run outlets.”

One of the leading coffee chains, Esquires Coffee begun its operation in Canada in 1993. The first Esquires coffee-house was opened in the suburb of Sunshine Hills, a residential district of the city of Vancouver, Canada. Further branches were opened across Canada, before the company went international on a franchise basis. Through the time, the brand has been successful in spreading its foothold globally. Now, it has its presence in numerous countries that include cafes in the Middle East, Asia, the UK, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia. At present, Esquires Coffee is owned by Cooks Global Foods, which is a publicly listed company on the New Zealand Stock Exchange.
